We have had the privilege of working with departments of all sizes and unique characteristics. In each case we have developed with them unique mounting solutions specific to their needs and budget. We take the time to review the unique specifications of each unit, be it a fire truck, towing or service unit. We are familiar with the equipment, safety issues and any other requirements. We are then able to design with you mounting solutions tailored to your specific needs. Our attention to details applies whether you just want to secure and have ergonomic access to new equipment (ex extrication) or for a whole unit mounting.

Two different mounting solutions for emergency units

We offer two mounting services for your emergency units. This reflects our commitment to offering products and services of the highest quality.

On-site mounting services

  • This solution enables us to complete the equipment mounting on site, in your station or shop. It applies to new units or units already in service (retrofit). Structure, efficiency and safety dominate our approach. An initial meeting allows us to present different options to maximize the efficiency and ergonomics of the equipment locations. We frequently move (temporarily) pieces of equipment that you may ‘’see’’ the result better. It is not infrequent that reorganizing equipment location and access frees up new usable space.
  • We then present you with a ‘’Location Plan’’ for review, comment and approval. When the plan is approved we present our mounting proposition, with details and costing per compartment and/or for the complete unit.
  • We can provide everything needed : pull-out slides, shelves, M-Traks aluminum extrusions, mounts, etc.. When a mount doesn’t exist on the market we create one. We ALWAYS suggest and/or create best quality products. The quality of our work is non-negotiable.
  • Once you approve the scope of the project we prepare and assemble all components and mounts required for your project. On-site installation takes place when convenient for you. In case of a ‘’retrofit’’ the unit must be taken out of duty during the day(s) of mounting but can typically be back in service at the end of each day. Equipment mounting on a whole unit is typically completed in 2-3 days, including last-minute adjustments. Our job is complete when YOU are satisfied.
  • Our commitment is total: when our mounting is completed, your operations must be more efficient and safer. All tools and equipment must be easy to access and securely mounted. We are not satisfied with our work unless you are.

Remote mounting service

  • This solution covers cases where distance prevents on-site mounting or when limited budgets cause problems. The advent of the internet and other technological advances allow us to offer customized products and services in a way unthinkable 30 years ago. Distance is not an issue anymore!
  • As with on-site mounting our approach is driven by structure, efficiency, safety and ergonomics. You e-mail us pictures, dimensions and a tool inventory (see more info). You should also tell us the unit’s role (ex first attack, mutual aid, etc.) and of upcoming plans (ex adding extrication equipment).
  • We review your information and send you a location plan, showing where the tools are now and, sometimes, where and how we suggest to mount them. More importantly, we tell you why. The location plan is a picture of the unit with compartment dimensions and all your tools. We’ll often send you pictures of compartments we’ve mounted with similar tools and dimensions as yours. The location plan is a planning tool that is unique to us.
  • We review the location plan with you, adjust it as needed and finalise it. We can then send you a detailed proposal with costs per compartment or for the whole unit, per your preference.
  • When you’re ready we prepare and ship all materials required for your mounting. Each component and mount is clearly labelled and we provide a detailed, step-by-step instructions manual. You supply a cordless drill and a wrench set, typically with 3/8’’, 7/16’’ and ½’’ sizes. Everything else is supplied and labelled.
  • The mounting process is simple, quick and professional. We are always available to answer any questions and assist you. Your unit will be more efficient, safer and a great source of pride.

Proactive Solutions offers several products and services. Besides equipment mounting and structuring services we are a PAC mounts distributor. In this respect we can assist you in selecting the best, most cost-efficient mount for each tool, always at competitive prices. We also offer locally designed and produced M-Traks extruded aluminum boards and several other products produced in our shop. We design and produce Pro-Slides pull-out slides locally using mostly North American components. All our products and services stand out for their quality and competitiveness.
